Our turntable machines measure simultaneously the firmness, the color and the size of most fruits and vegetables Concerning Firmness : We propose 2 different sensor heads : - The version called Agrosta Winterwood comes with a sensor head based on Durofel Index. The durofel system is wellknown for soft fruits and berries, it is based on the Shore A norm : Calibrated load cell + calibrated spring - The values are measured between 0 and 100% Here are some publications on our Durofel system : - BLUEBERRY : 2016 R. - The version called Agrosta Wonderful comes with a ‘single load cell’ measurement head, providing values in grams / newtons or lb. It can be used either for measuring pressure for a fixed deflection of fruits (Blueberry, cherry, tomato..) or as penetrometer (Apple, strawberry..). Several tips are proposed like 0.5cm2 (Penetrometry apples), 5mm diameter (Penetrometry strawberry, deflection blueberry), 4mm diameter (Skin breaking resistance measurement of apples). The load cell has a maximum capacity of 5 Kg, we recommend to apply pressures below 4.5 Kg. A flat large tip (diam 40mm) is proposed for testing soft fruits according to FIRMTECH standard Concerning Color : The colorimeter is placed under the table and measures through a hole placed inside the turntable cups. It is a spectrophotometer which measures the intensity of light for 6 different wavelengths along the visible range This provides very intuitive data that can be easily compared to color charts for fruits like Ctifl color referential The color of each fruit is measured during firmness measurement, and placed in a chart that can be exported to Excel Concerning Size : The software calculates the difference between the initial distance between the bottom of the turntable cups and the distance made by the tray for touching the fruit (Number of steps made by the stepper motor for touching the fruit : 800 steps per mm). The size is displayed for each fruit
The software is very intuitive and easy to use. All measurements are recorded inside a chart that can be exported to Excel afterwards. You can adjust a multiplier for each wavelength (Color measurement), the penetration stroke (firmness measurement) and the initial size (size measurement). You can export the graph describing the color of each fruit as well. The software is compatible with all versions of Windows
